Cardiac Assessment & Consultation

Sydney Cardiologist Dr Young Yu preparing for a coronary procedure.

Our cardiologists offer a comprehensive and progressive cardiac care service. Your consultation will involve discussion about your health and medical history. Depending on the individual, the consult may involve addressing preventative issues such as diet, exercise, blood pressure control and cholesterol management as well as any previously identified cardiovascular concerns.

We have a range of cardiologists with special interests in general cardiology, non-invasive testing, echocardiography, coronary intervention, electrophysiology and device implantation including pacemakers and defibrillators.

We cater for not only Adult Cardiology but Paediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease.

If it has been identified that further investigation via cardiac testing or a procedure is required this will be discussed with you.

What is a cardiac assessment and consultation?

Your initial assessment and consultation will be an opportunity to meet Dr Young Yu and the team and share information about your health. We’ll discuss all the details about any current concerns, medical history and any other conditions or risk factors that may affect your heart or cardiovascular health.

Why do I need a cardiac assessment ?

Your GP will have referred you to see a cardiologist for more specialised care for any heart concerns. We may perform some initial tests and recommend other procedures to further investigate any specific cardiovascular or heart concerns. We may also meet to discuss preventative treatments for blood pressure control and cholesterol management.

What can I expect at a cardiac assessment ?

Our team offers comprehensive and progressive cardiac care. We look after patients of all ages who present with different concerns and conditions that fall under the banner of cardiology medicine. Dr Young Yu has extensive experience in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure and the use of stent technology – but he is first and foremost a general cardiologist.

At your initial consultation, Dr Yu will talk to you about your general health and medical history, and your specific symptoms and concerns. Depending on your concerns, the consultation may involve addressing preventative issues such as diet, exercise, blood pressure control and cholesterol management as well as any previously identified cardiovascular concerns.

If it has been identified that further investigation via cardiac testing or a procedure is required, Dr Yu will discuss options for further testing with you.
